The Philippines has begun the rollout of the second booster shot for immunocompromised individuals on Monday, April 25.
This as the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) is the the inoculation drives across the country.
According to NVOC head Myrna Cabotaje, 690,000 immunocompromised individuals have already received their third doses.
But the availability of the second booster dose still depends on the vaccination centers, per Cabotaje.
"For the first day, we have an estimated 7,000 to 13,000 projected to have their second boosters," she said.
It was last week when health chief Francisco Duque III announced the approval of the administration of second booster shots to individuals who have human immunodeficiency virus (HIV); active cancer or malignancy; are transplant recipients; undergoing steroid treatment; patients with poor prognosis/bed-ridden patients; and other conditions of immunodeficiency as certified by a physician.
