Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III announced that 14 areas in the country under Alert Level 1 have seen a slight increase in COVID-19 cases.
Duque said this during the Talk to the People held last Monday after Semana Santa 2022.
"Nakakita na naman tayo ng dahan-dahan na bahagyang pagtaas ng mga kaso sa 14 na mga lugar under Alert Level 1. Binibigyan po natin ng paulit-ulit na paalala, at maraming salamat po Mr. President, dahil nasunod ng taong bayan sa disiplanong pagtalima sa minimum public health standards,” the health chief said.
According to the official, leading the regions that saw a resurgence of Covid-19 cases from April 12 to 18 were NCR with 606, CALABARZON which recorded 226 and Region 3, 181.
Meanwhile, Cavite recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases with 101, followed by Manila, 92 and Quezon City, 82.
Currently, the number of active cases in the country has dropped to 19, 923 while the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country is now 3, 683, 211.
