The Amadeo Water District took to social media to express disappointment as they were victimized by a scammer who pretended to be their employees and ordered fake bookings.
On April 6, the AWD posted a screenshot of a Facebook profile which was allegedly used by the suspect to order fake deliveries.
“Huwag po kayo makikipag transact sa Facebook account na ito, ito po ay fake account na ginagamit ang pangalan ng isa naming empleyado at nagpapadeliver sa aming tanggapan,” they warned, adding that they won’t accept cash-on-delivery orders unless it was confirmed to be their employees’.
In a separate post, the AWD condemned the act as they still keep on receiving unverified orders.
“Gustuhin man po naming patuloy na tulungan ang mga biktimang negosyante at/o riders na ito ay hindi na po namin magagawang tanggapin ang mga orders na darating pa (kung mayroon man),” they said.
The office has already reported the incident to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.
“Kumakalap na sila ng kaukulang ebidensya at sapat na impormasyon upang matunton ang lokasyon ng scammer at mapanagot sya sa kanyang mga kasalanan,” they wrote.
