Security plans of the Manila Police District in the city are laid out, a few days before Semana Santa.
According to the MPD, they will deploy 400 more policemen in populated areas such as churches, train stations, bus terminals, and malls.
MPD is advising the public to make sure the doors and gates of the house are properly locked, and if possible leave the house to a trusted neighbor or relatives.
According to Police Maj. Philippines, MPD spokesperson, they will also increase the force of patrols, checkpoint operators and also set up a police assistance desk where the public can seek help.
MPD also called on the public to be doubly careful, follow the health protocols, be alert and report any suspicious incidents.
It is expected that the number of people will increase as Metro Manila is on Alert Level 1 amid the threat of Covid-19.
