The Department of Education has announced that the early registration for the next school year will take place from March 25 to April 30.
In a memorandum signed by Education Secretary Leonor Briones, DepEd said pre-registration will allow the agency to make the necessary prepartations.
"All incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7 and 11 learners in all public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations... for the incoming school year," a part of the memo read, adding that Grades 2 to 6, 8 to 10, and 12 learners "are considered pre-registered and will not need to participate in the early registration.
DepEd also encouraged private schools to conduct earlier registrations in the same period.
In areas under Alert Levels 1 and 2, the education department said in-person registration by parents and guardians are allowed, subject to implementation of minimum health standards for Covid-19 prevention. Meanwhile, in areas under Alert Levels 3 to 5, registration shall be done through remote means such as text messaging and social media platforms.
