TOKYO, Japan — North Korea has notified Japan of a plan..
Starting next month, fully inoculated Filipinos will be allowed entry to Singapore, its government announced on Thursday.
The Philippines is one of the countries included in Singapore’s Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) program, which allows quarantine-free travel to the city-state through designated flights.
In a statement, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said travelers from the Philippines as well as Israel are welcomed beginning March 4.
“CAAS will launch new VTLs for Israel and the Philippines to establish two-way quarantine-free travel with them. Travellers from these countries may enter Singapore under the VTL on or after 4 March 2022,” it said.
Applications for VTL for these countries begin on March 1, it added.
Transport Minister S Iswaran, in a separate statement said that they are also launching VTLs to Hong Kong, and deepen existing ones with other Asian countries, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
“Now that we have greater certainty over the nature of Omicron and the associated public risks, it is important that we want to resume the safe reopening of our borders to reclaim our position as a global business and aviation hub.” Iswaran said.
