Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during his speech addressed to the crowd in his bailiwick, Ilocos Sur introduced his running mate, vice presidential aspirant Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as an “adopted Ilocano.”
“Sa palagay ko, Inday, sa sigaw na dito, official na—ikaw ay adopted na na Ilocano,” Marcos told Duterte.
Like in his previous speeches, Marcos expressed how “very lucky” he is to have the mayor as his running mate.
“Napakaswerte ko po dahil tinitingnan ko lahat ng vice presidential candidate ay ako’y nagpapasalamat na naging mapalad ako na ang naging partner ko ay ang pinakamagaling, pinakamahusay, pinakamatapang at bukod sa lahat ay napakalalim ng paninindigan sa pagmamahal sa Pilipinas sa paniniwala niya sa pagkakaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino,” the former senator said in Narvacan.
The BBM-Sara tandem is the frontrunner in the 2020 polls. Latest surveys show they are preferred by most Filipinos to the next leaders in the country.
