Unvaccinated individuals will be allowed to ride public transportation once Metro Manila shifts to alert level 2 on February 1, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) confirmed.
Transportation Assistant Secretary Goddess Libiran said that the “no vaccine, no ride” policy only applies in Metro Manila when it is under alert level 3 or higher.
“Once we de-escalate to Alert Level 2, the ‘no vax, no ride’ policy shall automatically be lifted,” Libiran confirmed.
The policy was implemented earlier to restrict the movement of unvaccinated individuals amid the record-high spike in COVID-19 cases.
The national capital region (NCR) will be placed under the lower alert level on February 1 until 15. The provinces of Batanes, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Biliran, Southern Leyte, and Basila will also be under alert level 2.
