Metro Manila and the entirety of the Philippines have been reclassified from “critical” to “high risk” for COVID-19, health secretary Francisco Duque announced on Monday, January 25.
According to Duque, the two-week growth rate dropped to 76 percent which is classified as moderate risk. The average daily attack rate (ADAR), meanwhile, remains high at 25.46 percent.
Healthcare utilization is also classified as moderate risk.
In Metro Manila, the two-week growth rate decreased from 7225 percent to 65 percent, while the ADAR remains at 85.46 percent.
The health chief added that NCR and nearby areas have declining COVID-19 cases, while the rest of Luzon is plateauing.
Duque earlier said that the cases in Metro Manila have already peaked.

The regions of Mimaropa, BARMM, and SOCCSKSARGEN were also identified as high risk.
Those under critical risk classification are: Bicol Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Western Visayas, Davao region, Cagayan Valley, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Ilocos region, Caraga, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Calabarzon, and Central Luzon.
