SEVENTEEN’s Woozi Makes His Solo Debut with ‘Ruby’

On January 3, Monday, the SEVENTEEN member Woozi made his solo debut with the release of his first mixtape Ruby and its official music video. The rock-inspired all-English track also deviates from the SEVENTEEN’s trademark sound, showcasing another side of Woozi in his venture into music as a solo act.

“I tried to create music that only the singer Woozi could create. I think it’d be good for people to focus on Woozi’s vocals, which move freely within a colorful array of variations,” said the artist.

Woozi is the latest member of SEVENTEEN to make a solo debut, following members Jun, Hoshi, THE8, and the pair Wonwoo and Mingyu.

Woozi is the main composer and producer for all of SEVENTEEN’s songs even before the group made its debut.

SEVENTEEN is a 13-member Kpop boy group known for hits like Don’t Wanna Cry, VERY NICE, and more that debuted in 2015 under PLEDIS Entertainment.
