Healthcare workers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can start getting their booster shots on November 17, Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed.
DOH recommends the use of Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac vaccines for booster shots regardless of which brand was used for the first dose.
“Based on the Emergency Use Authorization (EAU) issued by the FDA, the DOH recommends using either Moderna, Pfizer, and Sinovac as booster doses regardless of the brand used for the primary series,” the department said in a statement.
“Sinovac will also be offered as a booster for those that had Sinovac as primary series,” it added.
The department added that guidelines on booster shots will be released on Tuesday, November 16 by the National Vaccine Operations Center (NVOC).
