The Department of Tourism (DOT) released a list of local destinations that do not require a COVID-19 swab test for fully vaccinated visitors.
The agency welcomed the decision of local governments to ease the travel restrictions, especially in areas with high vaccination coverage for tourism workers and residents. Tourism Secretary Berna-Romulo Puyat is hopeful that local governments will reach a 100 percent vaccination rate to push the revival of local tourism.
“We thank the LGUs for this development especially now that the number of tourists are slowly picking up. We hope that in the months ahead, we will achieve a hundred percent vaccination rate so we can push for a big move for tourism revival,” she said.
Per the list DOT released on Thursday, October 28, here’s where vaccinated travelers can go without a COVID-19 test:
Destinations that dropped the RT-PCR and antigen test requirement (as of October 24):
Destinations that require vaccination certificate from VaxCertPH:
Destinations that require vaccination cards from visitors:
Clark Freeport Zone (except areas under ECQ)
Subic Bay Freeport Zone
Tarlac (for areas under ECQ and MECQ)
Meanwhile, Boracay still requires an RT-PCR test for all tourists including the national capital region (NCR). Romulo-Puyat, however, revealed that the islands are planning to drop the swab testing requirement for fully vaccinated visitors soon.
