The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has granted the request of lawmakers in the House and Senate to extend the September 30 voter registration deadline.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said on Wednesday, September 29 confirmed that voter registration will reopen “from October 11 to 30; Monday-Friday, no Saturdays, except for the last day (October 30), 8 am to 5 pm. All registration services offered.”
Voter applicants will not be accommodated from October 1 to 8, said Comelec, as it would like to prioritize the filing of certificates of candidacy (COC) for the 2020 elections.
