CHED requests Duterte to extend F2F classes to other degree programs

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) requests President Rodrigo Duterte to extend the face-to-face classes to other degree programs like maritime, hotel and restaurant management and engineering courses.

CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera said, "Ang aming hiling, Mr. President, baka pwedeng iexpand na natin ito sa ibang programa na kailangan din talaga ng face-to-face.”

According to de Vera, there are currently a total of 13,188 students taking up medicine and health courses in 118 schools nationwide.

He added that atleast 10,000 students have been vaccinated and those students attending in-person classes, there are only 41 who tested positive for COVID-19 and only developed mild symptoms.

Meanwhile, there are only 1,048 authorized faculty members with 1,003 have been vaccinated. Only 15 of them caught mild COVID-19.

He said, "Ligtas naman po. Mahigpit ang ating guidelines.”
