As the national government's vaccination program continued to vaccinate more Filipinos, the total of fully vaccinated individuals in the country as of September 7 reaches over 15.2 million.
The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) told senators on Wednesday, September 8, that over 15.2 million individuals in the Philippines have been vaccinated against COVID-19, as of Tuesday, September 7.
Along with data provided by the Department of Health, NEDA Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua revealed in his presentation to the Senate finance committee that a total of 36.2 million COVID-19 jabs have been administered under the national government's vaccination program.
Meanwhile, 20.9 million individuals have already been administered with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Chua also informed the senators that a total of 52.8 million doses of life-saving jabs against COVID-19 have been delivered to the Philippines this year. The vaccine doses were either donated by other countries, procured by the national government, or were provided by COVAX facility, the COVID-19 vaccine distribution initiative led by the World Health Organization.
The finance panel was being briefed by the Development Budget Coordination Committee to start off the upper chamber's deliberations on the proposed budget for 2022.
