Former senator JV Ejercito, during an online conference on..
We, Filipinos, are innately courageous and joyful. It is our nature to smile the tragedy away, not because we have to but because we want to. It is one way to motivate one another during trying times like this.
Smile like there’s no tomorrow
With what’s happening in our motherland these days, earthquakes in some provinces, flash floods there, heavy rain here, and injuries everywhere connected to these disasters, it is our responsibility to stay strong to keep going.
And because our government can’t seem to give us immediate solutions and help for what we’re experiencing today, we have to think of ways on our own on how to deal with unfortunate events.
Yes, we need financial help.
Yes, we need shelter.
Yes, we need spaces due to the pandemic.
Yes, we need support for food to survive everyday. We don’t have them all, but here we are, smiling as if there’s no tomorrow.
Smiling albeit the lack of fortunes, luck, and blessings that this country can give.
Filipinos know the worth of life and we know that the best thing that has happened to us is our safety.
Nothing is ever guaranteed to us for now, not even our tomorrow, hence the happiness and hard work of the Filipinos especially during a disaster.
