The Philippine National Police will deploy 15,000 police officers on July 26 to secure the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte, PNP chief General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said on Friday, July 23.
The Philippine National Police guaranteed 100% readiness for the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte, with complete security preparations and deployment plans settled by the National Capital Region Police Office.
The COVID-19 protocols were also considered in the finalization of the security measures made by the NCRPO.
Eleazar added that they have not yet monitored any threats related to SONA, but the PNP ensures that all personnel is ready to respond to any event.
The PNP Chief also hoped that the public would cooperate on Monday and encouraged groups who will organize a massive rally to conduct their activities virtual or online instead of physically.
The NCRPO, on the other hand, will use body-worn cameras to help monitor the suspicious movements of people who intend to disrupt the SONA.
