Self-love is the most essential gift that you can ever give to yourself.
One of the hardest things to do is to embrace yourself as a whole. There are many reasons why people have kept themselves from doing so. For some, it takes a huge amount of courage; because most of the time, it costs important people and things.
Studies say that self-love and compassion are the main keys to good mental health and well-being. It minimizes depression and anxiety in all aspects that we used to feel every day.
Although it might be a long process due, it is a gateway for you to prevent terrible experiences from your life. Below are some reminders for you to learn the art of self-love.

In any choice you make, from picking your friends and forming life-changing decisions down to purchasing clothes and choosing a restaurant for dinner, you have the power to only choose what’s best for you.
In today’s society, people are used to the mindset of sacrificing themselves for the benefit of other people whom they love. It might seem like the highest form of love, but not always. You must prioritize what makes you the happiest, what serves you right, and what makes you feel justified.
“Do not settle for anything less than what you deserve,” as the saying goes. Learn to determine what’s best for you, by that, the outcomes will always bring out the best in you too.

But, learn to say no. You can choose your own preference, likes, and actions in accordance with your own personality. Your truest self should not be defined by how others want you to be. It should only be defined by you.
You owe it to yourself to love yourself. No one can give you the greatest love except you. Self-love means choosing yourself and being yourself.
Friends, family, partners in life, strangers, and even you can either make or break the love you have for yourself. If it’s the latter, then you must have the power to withstand those.
For some, the concept of self-love is unfortunately non-existent. But for people who aspire to live their lives in happiness and prosperity, it is a must.
Learning the art of self-love redirects you to the best destination in life. You will get used to the routine of doing things for yourself. Walking away with things or people that exhaust you will be easier. You will not be afraid to fail, because you can embrace the fact that you are not perfect at all.
