The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) on Friday, May 21 has allowed priority vaccination for COVID-19 of delegates participating in the Tokyo Olympics and the 2021 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
According to Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, IATF gives the green light upon the recommendation of the technical working group (TWG) of the interim National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (iNITAG).
Included in the priority list are athletes, delegates, and officials who are going to the two events.
“Inaprubahan ng iyong IATF ang rekomendasyon ng TWG sa iNITAG na nagrekomenda na bigyang prayoridad ang pagbabakuna ng mga atleta, coaches, mga delegado, at mga opisyal na aalis papuntang Tokyo Olympics at Southeast Asian Games,” said Roque.
The 2021 Southeast Asian Games will begin on Sunday, 21 November and ends on Thursday, 2 December.
Meanwhile, the 2020 Summer Olympics or also known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
