Two brands of COVID-19 vaccines may arrive in the country by next month, the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed.
According to DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, in an interview with Teleradyo, two kinds of vaccines will be arriving in the Philippines by next month, although no further details were revealed.
“May portfolio po tayo na iba’t ibang mga bakuna and as early as February we might be receiving the deliveries of these vaccines,” she said.
“Aantayin po natin si vaccine czar, I hope you understand he’s the one authorized to provide this kind of information," Vergeire, referring to retired general Carlito Galvez who is in charge of the country’s efforts to fight COVID-19.
Galvez has also signed a deal to secure 30 million doses of Covovax COVID-19 vaccine, Serum Institute of India (SII) announced. The vaccines will be available by the third quarter of this year.
