Liver spread brand, Reno, has apologized for failing to secure a certificate of product registration, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo said Wednesday.
“Sumulat naman sila at nagpaumanhin dahil hindi nga raw sila nakapagrehistro ng produkto nila,” Domingo told TeleRadyo, adding that the brand has also submitted its application for registration.
“Hinihintay pong makumpleto nila ang requirements. Basta naman po kumpleto ang requirements, mabilis ang approval sa FDA," Domingo said.
The popular liver spread brand was among the list of products without registration recently released by FDA. The agency warned the public from purchasing and consuming the unregistered products.
“Since these unregistered food product and food supplements have not gone through the evaluation process of FDA, the agency cannot assure its quality and safety,” it said.
