Filipina entrepreneur Felicitas “Joji” Bautista Pantoja has been awarded the prestigious Oslo Business for Peace Award in Norway.
The award, dubbed as the “Nobel Prize of Business,” is the highest distinction given to a business person.
The Mindanao-based entrepreneur in the current President and CEO of Coffee for Peace in Davao City.
“Ms. Pantoja receives the Award for her business-worthy efforts in bringing peace and prosperity to conflict-affected communities in the Philippines,” the Award committee said in an announcement.
Alongside the Pantoja, Marc Benioff (CEO of cloud computing giant Salesforce) and James Mwangi (CEO of an African banking group) were also recipients of the award.
The awards committee said that it recognized the three honorees for their “outstanding business worthy accomplishments” and for “apply(ing) their business energy ethically and responsibly, creating stronger economic and societal value.”
