New Zealand confirms two new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). Both arrived from the Philippines and are now in managed isolation.
NZ Herald reports the first case arrived in New Zealand on July 23. The patient who is in his 20s arrived from the Philippines via Hong Kong.
The second case is a woman in her 40s who arrived in New Zealand on August 1. She also arrived from the Philippines via Hong Kong.
The Ministry of Health said the two new cases lifts the total number of active cases in New Zealand's border to 24.
It’s now been 96 days since the last case of COVID-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source and there still remains no evidence of community transmission.
