"Akala ko the whole time COVID ang kalaban, UP pala! Congratulations!" — Luis Manzano
A University of the Philippines study released early this month said the Philippines will have 40,000 cases by the end of June.
On Sunday, DOH confirmed that there are now 35,455 coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) cases in the country— lower than UP’s prediction.
With this, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said we won against UP.
On Tuesday, Kapamilya Actor Luis Manzano had a funny reaction to Presidential Spox. Roque’s statement that the Philippines have proved the University of the Philippines’ prediction wrong.
“Akala ko the whole time COVID ang kalaban, UP pala! Congratulations!!” he wrong on Twitter.
Akala ko the whole time COVID ang kalaban, UP pala! Congratulations!! 👍🏻👍🏻 https://t.co/vKPLQ2wb2h— Luis Manzano (@luckymanzano) June 30, 2020
Manzano currently has 5.6 million followers on the platform.
Aside from Manzano, more netizens have commented on Roque’s statements and celebration.
Netizen @austinedal1 said “we already have 44,764 INDIVIDUALS” and the Department of Health’s validation is just too slow.
I cant stand Roque. We already have 44,764 INDIVIDUALS WHO TESTED POSITIVE. DOH validation is just too slow. Also, they started reporting "LATE" cases more than a month ago to address backlog, but the gap is BIGGER THAN EVER AT ALMOST 10K. It was 6k before "late" case reporting. pic.twitter.com/DZhQW1zTIk— Austine #JunkAntiTerrorBill (@austinedal1) June 29, 2020
Jai Cabajar @jaicabajar said the 35, 455 cases are not to be proud of and Roque should stop patting himself on the back.
35,455 validated cases as of June 28 and ilan pa kaya yung for validation? That's nothing to be proud of, Roque. Stop patting yourself on the back. https://t.co/XJun2vNjgA— Jai Cabajar (@jaicabajar) June 29, 2020
I hate how Roque speaks like we should be thankful abt our current state with the COVID-19 crisis. WHAT IS SO GRATIFYING ABT 36,000+ CASES, HARRY ROQUE? Should we rejoice bc of that? Putangina.— Jebby 🧜🏻♂️ (@marjoerenzmd) June 29, 2020
Harry Roque: We have proven wrong the UP projection of 40,000 positive cases by end-June.— Mar(x)c (@Mrcxism) June 29, 2020
