An opportunity to “build solutions to global..
The country’s newest scan-and-pay, cartless shopping.
The chore of grocery shopping, the hustle from trying to maneuver two carts at a time or keeping track of the items you have in your cart. Though the idea of cartless shopping is not something new, Target has done it back in 2015 but it is quite a foreign to the Filipinos.
With the introduction of the Puregold Mobile App by Puregold Price Club, powered by Globe Telecom, the foreign cartless shopping will eventually become the Filipinos norm.

Dubbed as SALLY (Shopping Ally), shoppers can conveniently shop and avoid lines, by using the scan-and-pay system. Basically, shoppers just scan the barcode of the items they want to purchase, once done, click check out. You are then brought to the check out screen, with different options such as mode of payment, add any special instruction, and whatnot.
Note: A minimum of P1,000.00 of purchase is needed to be able to use the service of this app.

Mode of payments can be either debit/credit card, Gcash, and Cash upon pick-up. Specify the exact time and date you will pick it up. You will then receive a confirmation of your order, the voila, easy-peasy.
Aimed towards different kinds of Filipino shoppers, from working parents, young working individuals, or SMEs (Small-to-Medium Enterprises). The app also records your history, thus refilling of goods is possible with just a click of a button.
The scanning of the barcode was definitely fast as long as there’s no obstruction, and the barcode is not wet or damaged.
The Sagisag team got the chance to check out the app on-hand during the launching event on January 31. During the Q and A, the Puregold & Globe team discussed to include other Puregold branches, ultimately, covering all. As for the Junior branches, it is noted that regular Puregold branches are surrounding the junior ones, thus pick-up are for the meantime, available only at the regular branches.

The app has a lot to work on, like adding more Puregold branches that support this and the “Locker Drop Off” function coming soon. But for the initial app, it’s definitely a push-kart-forward to a modern way of shopping.
Available on both Android and iOS.
