Too many names made their mark in the Philippine sports scene after recording remarkable finishes in Day 8 of 2019 SEAG
Day 8 of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) ended with a bang for the Philippines.
The hosts now have 106 golds, 81 silvers, and 88 bronzes to unofficially secure the overall title of the 2019 SEAG.
Here are the quick highlights of what the Philippines achieved today.
PINOYS KICK AND SMASH THEIR WAY TO SUCCESS IN MANILA

Taekwondo, a perennial gold medal mine for the Philippines in the SEAG, never failed to disappoint the homecrowd at Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila as Pauline Lopez (women's 57kg), Dave Cea (men's 74kg), and Samuel Morrison (men's 80kg) dominated their opponents en route to a gold medal finish.
Bambi Zoleta Manalac won her second gold in the 2019 SEAG in the soft tennis women's doubles event, with her sister Bien as her partner. They swept Thailand, 5-0, in the gold medal match held at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila.
While at the Manila Hotel Tent, the Philippines managed a gold-silver finsih in the billiards women's 9-pool after Rubilen Amit defeated Chezka Centeno, 7-3. Amit exacted on Centeno, who defeated her last night in the women's 10-ball pool finals.
But the highlight of the day in Manila was the Pinoy spikers' thrilling five-setter win against defending champion Thailand at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The Bryan Bagunas-led spikers dethroned the Thais with the scores of 17-25, 25-20, 23-25, 27-25, 17-15, to advance into the gold medal match against Indonesia on Tuesday.
GOLD SPLASH AT SUBIC
Melcah Caballero bagged her second 2019 SEAG gold after topping the rowing women's lightweight single sculls event at Malawaan Park.
Edgar Ilas and Roque Abala Jr. got the bronze in the men's lightweight double sculls.
Muay Thai athletes are the star here as they won two golds and two silvers in the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.
Ariel Lampacan (men's 54kg) and Philip Delarmino (men's 57kg) scored the golds for the Philippines. While Jenelyn Olsim (women's 54kg) and Erika Bomogao (women's 45kg) are the silver medalists.
RAINING GOLDS AT CLARK

The gold rush in Clark today was started by the Blu Girls as they won their 10th straight SEAG gold medal after disposing Indonesia, 8-0, at The Villages field.
Their male counterparts, however, had their golden streak broken as they settled for a silver finish after being blanked by Singapore, 0-5.
Wakeboarding also made a splash as their athletes contributed two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes at the Deca Wakeboard Park in Angeles, Pampanga.

Susan Larson and Jhondi Wallace topped their respective gender categories in the waterskate event. Christian Joson added a bronze in the male category.
While Raphael Trinidad and Samantha Bermudez received a silver medal in the wakeboard event. Ralph Villaro contributed a bronze also in this event.
In the afternoon, the men's baseball and rugby teams emerged victorious to add into the gold medal haul collection of the host country.
The female rugby players also scored a silver in the matches at the CDC Parade Grounds.
Also, the tandem of Bianca Pagdanganan and Lois Kaye Go raised the Philippine flag up high at the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac City after winning the gold in the women's team play. It was also the second gold for Pagdanganan, who also won the individual event yesterday.
GOLDS ALSO WON AT LA UNION AND TAGAYTAY

Surfing also had its fair share of medal contribution after notching two golds, two silvers, and three bronzes at La Union.
Roger Casugay and Rogelio Esquivel Jr. tallied a gold-silver finish in the men's longboard event. Nilbie Blancada and Jervy Agudo achieved the same as they won the gold and silver, respectively, in the women's longboard.
Daisy Valdez brought home two bronzes in the longboard and shortboard events while John Mark Tokong added a bronze also in the shortboard event.
Over at Tagaytay, skateboarding once again became the source of pride for the country.
After tallying two silver medal finishes behind 2018 Asian Games gold medalist Margielyn Didal, skateboarder Christiana Means won her first SEAG gold in the women's park event.
Jericho Francisco ruled the male version of the park event while Jaime De Lange topped the men's downhill category.
Duke Raphael Pandeagua finished behind De Lange in that event to win the silver and Rydelle Alabrico notched a bronze in the women's downhill.
ATHLETICS COMPLETES THE DAY FOR THE PHILIPPINES

It was a victorious day at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium in Capas,Tarlac as the national athletics team continues its golden conquest.

Natalie Uy began the winning charge for the Philippines as she set a new SEAG record of 4.25 meters jump to be the new pole valut queen of Southeast Asia.
Then, William Morrison clinched the gold in the men's shot put event.
Sarah Dequinan placed second in the last 200 meter run event of the heptathlon competition. Despite the result, Dequinan obtained a total aggregate score of 5101 points to win the women's heptathlon gold.
The Philippines ended the day with another gold as the crew of Kristina Knott, Eloisa Luzon, Eric Cray, and Anfernee Lopena topped the very first mixed 4x100 meter relay.
Knott earlier bagged a silver in the women's 100 meter event.
